Sambar Podi

Red chilli , Cumin , Fenugreek, Asafoetida, Lentils, Pepper, Curry leaves

• Pressure cook 4 tbsps of tuvar dal and keep aside
• Add 2 tbsps of tamarind pulp, salt, turmeric and cut vegetables. Let it cook
• Add 3-4 tbsps of sambar powder and cooked dal to the mix
• Tadka: Take a tsp of oil and add 1 tsp mustard seeds
• Add a tbsp of jaggary and mix together with the sambar
• Garnish with coriander leaves

 

Our Little Secret

• Grind 3 tbsps of sambar podi with 4 tbsps of gratedcoconut for an authentic south Indian taste.
• Goes well with idlis, dosas, vadas, uttapas.
• Use this podi to make spicy potato roast sabji
